New Product Announcement & Give Away

I'm pleased to announce that Studio Art Head is now carrying Waffle Flower cling stamps!!!  These stamps are amazing and perfect for #plannergirls.  I have several planner themed stamps that are perfect for making lists, bullet journaling, etc.  Along with planner stamps, Waffle Flower has a cute alphabet set that provides a perfect base for doodling and enhancing each letter.

Saying Good-Bye 2016

It's almost 2017.  Are you ready for the new year?  For 2017, I set some (what I think) reasonable, easily, obtainable 'goals.'  It's really more like 'lifestyle changes.'  I do plan on eating better and healthier, and get out more and do things.  Sometimes getting out is frightening since I suffer from anxiety.  My anxiety has pretty much taken control of me for the most part of 2016, but I'm planning on changing that...baby steps.  I made a list of things I would like to do (or go) and placed them in my planner for the up coming year.  Now I see it as something positive to look forward to...something fun.

One thing I'm looking forward to is my very own 'sketchbook project.'  I ordered this HUGE Art Alternatives Very Big Sketch Book from Michaels online.  (see photo below)

It's an over-sized blank sketchbook that contains 300 sheets (600 pages) of acid-free bright paper.  It looks like a really huge coffee table book.  I'm planning on make/creating a sketch, collage, lettering, poem...anything creative once a day to fill up the entire book by the end of the year.  Although there are only 300 pages (if you don't count the back sides) and there are 365 days in one year, I think I can manage with 300 pages.  The sketchbook retails for $47.99 but I purchased it during the holidays when they were having the 50% coupons and free shipping.  Here is the link to the book.

Wish me luck!  I also plan on hosting several snail mart art swaps with an array of different themes instead of the typical themes (Paris, birds, butterflies).  I'll announce when the time is closer on Instagram.  I did stumble across a design team challenge by Another Colorful Creation.  They are searching for creative design team members to complete 2 projects per month...and here's the best part....in any media field!!  That means if your into paper arts, drawing, painting, color combos and mood boards....they're looking for you!  I've applied.  The deadline is January 15th.  Here is their link:

I know Christmas was yesterday, however; I spent the entire weekend with family and disconnected from the internet.  I do hope everyone had a happy holiday and was able to spend it in the warm company of friends and family.

New Webster's Pages Planner & Traveler's Notebook

Hello-

Have you completed your shopping?  I decided to go all #handmadefortheholidays.  All month I've been tackling my Christmas list and I'm pretty happy to say I finished last week.  I even managed to leave a few goodies scattered around town for some unexpected cheer.  I've been getting several tags on Instagram from people who found my tiny works of art!  I'm thinking of making it a monthly occurrence.  So what's on your Christmas list?  Um, perhaps a planner...or two?  Maybe a Travelers Notebook?

The new Mint Floral and Blush Stripe Travelers Notebooks, have been flying of my ETSY shelf and making the long journey to Japan, Australia, the UK, and Finland.  So happy about that I must say!  I'm restocked if anyone still looking for the Mint Floral & Blush Stripe.  I also carry the other Color Crush Travelers Notebooks.

For those searching high low for the Webster's Pages planning kit exclusive to JoAnn's, I also have them in the shop.  According to Webster's the kits will be made available to stockist  (like me) in January.  (I was lucky enough to score a few before then)  Also, planner-girls  I will be carrying the navy blue floral A5 Planner come January.  I've seen a bunch of ladies on Instagram asking for this lovely planner.  (see below)

It really is a beauty!  Be sure you check my Instagram feed or the blog for a pre-order list.  This planner is so gorgeous, I'm thinking it won't be in stock for long.  Wait till you see what I'm 'planning' on doing with mine....

I also have a new brand of cling rubber stamps coming in after the holidays.  I'm supper excited about this brand.  Most of the stamps are for your planners but there are a few alphabet stamps and social media stamps that are perfect for copic markers or colored pencils.  Be on the lookout soon for those stamps!

I want to thank everyone who participated in my 'Black Friday' special!!  I completely sold out of the 2 new Webster's Pages Color Crush Travelers Notebooks (Mint Floral and Blush Stripe).  One Travelers Notebook is making a long journey all the way to Japan.  As I said the 2 new colors-- Mint Floral (my personal fav!) and Blush Stripe have completely sold out and to this date are not offered anywhere else.  I have a wait list going so I you would like to be added to the list, please leave a comment here or email directly.

Today was 'Cyber Monday.'  I don't know about you, but as of late Saturday early Sunday, my email account was flooded with specials and coupons from and everyone trying to get my attention (and money..lol).  It was quite overwhelming.  I did try to shop for a few people on my list but things were either sold out or the servers were down, my guess from everyone trying to log on all at once.  This is why I didn't do a 'Cyber Monday' special...too much going on all at once.  Studio Art Head is going to have a 'special' later on in the week so definitely check my Instagram account for more details.

Is anyone going the 'handmade' route for Christmas?  I plan on making little somethings...ATCs, tags, something festive and special and leaving them hidden places I go when I run errands.  I believe everyone should get a little Christmas spirit when they least expect it.  If you would like to join me in leaving a small artwork or written card, let me know.

Webster's Pages Travelers Notebooks Update

Hello everyone-

I've been getting a ton of emails daily regarding the new Webster's Pages Travelers Notebooks.  I still haven't received the new colors (periwinkle, green, and fuchsia).  I've been back and forth via email and phone with them and in September they told me by the middle of October, they'd be ready to ship.  October came and left and still no new Travelers Notebooks.  In my last email I was told 'by end of November.'  This company has terrible customer service!  Half the time the phone just rings and a pre-recorded message comes on asking you to hold....then after 1-2 minutes it just hangs up on you.  I was able to email an actual person and was given the 'mid-November' response.  I've seen a few people selling them but I don't know if its the actual Travelers Notebook, or a waitlist for the specific color.  Ladies, I hope to have an answer for you by Monday.

New Bo Bunny Stamps!!

Calling all Planner-Girls and RubberStamp Lovers!!!!  The newest icon and emoji stamps are in...and guess what!?  They're holiday inspired icons and emoji's!!!!  Here's just a snippet of what they look like:

The 'Festive Emoji' acrylic stamps are too adorable.  You have all the basic fall holidays in an emoji version and versions are a 'good' and 'naughty' emoji.  I love the Thanksgiving turkey and naughty elf.  A total of 21 stamps come on the 'Festive Emoji' set.  

The second set, 'Holiday Icon' has everything a Planner-Girl needs...icons what say 'party' and friendly reminder to 'wrap gifts.'  This particular set has every possible stamp to take you from Christmas through Winter.  

The third set of Bo Bunny stamps titled, 'Feeling Festive' has a gorgeous Christmas tree, reindeer, snowflakes, etc....but what I think sells this package are the adorable Russian Matryoshka's (Russian Nesting Dolls) in three sizes.  What makes it even better is that the dolls are adorned with cute hearts and swirl motifs that can be used all year long.  Fabulous!!

Back on ETSY

Changes on the horizon!  After much debate,  I've decided to move my website back to ETSY.  Being a one-woman show, I was experiencing way too many technical problems with the website..especially with shipping.  I think I spent more time on hold with customer service then actually uploading new products.  No need for that add frustration so I decided to go back to basics and return to ETSY.  All ETSY apps are much more compatible on my iPhone versus the web apps and editors I was using that were constantly crashing.  The website will remain up until it runs its course in a few weeks.  You can still purchase from either the website or ETSY shop, however; only the ETSY shop will have current product updates.  More items will be coming soon so be sure to follow me here on the blog or on Instagram (@studioarthead) for the details.

It's official...Studio Art Head website launched!!!!

Today is the day!!  After a couple of years of playing with the idea, months of building the website and speaking with vendors... www.StudioArtHead.com has launched!  It's alway been my dream to share with the world my love of art/crafting and supplies.  Can you imagine if we all just took 10 minutes from our busy days to just sit and make something...a doodle, a journal entry, a scribble with crayons, we would be much happier?!  I mean the pure joy of making something with your hands and heart using materials that compliment your style...a thing of beauty.

I introduce you to my new baby, Studio Art Head.  A place where you can come to shop or just browse for inspiration.  Soon I'll have more 'how-to' videos using the products in the store as well as art swaps, and give-aways.  Stay tuned to the blog and follow me on Instagram for more info.  As for my ETSY Store, it will remain open and dedicated to my original artwork and found objects I come across.

Happy 2015...

With a busy 2014 behind me,  I'm so looking forward to this year!  I couldn't wait for 2014 to finish.  I over-stretched myself last year taking on way too many commitments.  Does that ever happen to you?  You take on too much for one person, because you don't want to say "no" or because you want to participate in every event know to man-kind?  You think, 'hey that sounds fun...I can definitely do that..no sweat I can easily do a 3' x 6' mosaic of a Dia de los Muertos scene in a day or two before I finish writing the essay for a prior commitment.'  'You need 100 glass soldered pendants for a fundraiser...I'm your girl!'  What was I thinking?!?  Seriously, this year I was doing too many things just to step out of my comfort zone...to participate more, be a part of things.  In doing this, I found myself drowning in an infinite hole of activities I once loved doing and missing out on the fun stuff because I was too exhausted to care.

In taking on so much, I realized I was neglecting the beauty in life.  I wasn't taking time to appreciate artwork I made, or words I'd written.  I simply became a machine of making 'to-do' lists...and quickly moving on to the next commitment.  Being 'too busy' ended up taking a toll on my health.  My doctors recommendation: slow down...sleep more...enjoy life at a comfortable pace.  I was so busy wanting to be a part of life's activities, I lost myself and put my health at risk.

No more.

After November, I started to reflect on what I wanted to do.  I no longer felt the a need to rush.  I spent all of December doing things that made me happy...some involved artwork, others were simple things like taking my puppy on field trips with me.  I even made mini-movies on my iPhone of random things that made me smile and feel safe....at peace.

That's what life should be about.  Feeling safe, at peace, and happy.  This year is the year I calm down and take things in stride.  No more rushing.  Just doing what feels right at the pace that feels comfortable.  I invite you to join me to just slow down.  Breathe.  We can write, draw, sew, sing, whatever make us feel happy without schedules and deadlines.  Live the life you want and the pace you need.  Life is precious.  It's time to enjoy it!  Who's with me?
